Mirtala Art Collection
Myrtala Pylypenko’s art is universal because it combines the spiritual experiences of man and humanity, the material and the sacred, the real and the invisible world. Her artistic language is accessible and understandable to people regardless of which continent they inhabit. The artist was born in Kharkiv, but spent most of her life in the United States. The first exhibition of her works in Ukraine took place in 1991 and since then Mirtala has been involved in Ukrainian cultural and artistic life. In 2011, she donated a collection of 16 of her works to the National University of Ostroh Academy. These are sculptures created by Mirtala in the 1960s and early 2000s. Taken as a whole, the collection is perceived as a conversation that the author is having with us through her works.
